Trauma Risk Management blended e-learning refresher training

This e-learning course is exclusively for individuals who have previously qualified as TRiM Practitioners. The TRiM refresher course helps learners review their essential TRiM skills and includes a face-to-face practical session to build confidence and uphold TRiM standards.

The course consists of five modules designed to refresh your knowledge of all TRiM elements and the practitioner’s role, enabling you to confidently reintegrate into your organization’s TRiM team. You will also engage in a practical exercise with one of our experienced mentors, who will answer any questions you may have and provide both written and verbal feedback.

The total learning time is approximately 3-4 hours, including a one-hour practical session, carried out virtually MS Teams. Upon completing the refresher course, you will receive a certificate endorsed by the CPD Standards Office, a new TRiM pack (including a manual and lanyard), and access to our new TRiM app.

Course Content

To attend this course, you must have previously qualified as a TRiM practitioner. This short course will not in itself qualify you as a TRiM Practitioner. The training is designed to revise and update you on previously taught and assessed skills.

Module 1 – The characteristics of traumatic stress and planning a response to traumatic events

Module 2 – Psychological risk assessment and the factors used in TRiM interventions

Module 3 – The framework for risk assessments and practical considerations

Module 4 – Recording risk assessments

Module 5 – a reminder about self-care and personal resilience

Module 6 – an instructor assessed practical TRiM risk assessment

Course Outcome

It is very important that TRiM practitioners refresh their skills on a regular basis. This training will provide you with updates and an assessed practical exercise to build your confidence. This course will not qualify you as a TRiM Practitioner.

Accreditation

On completion of the course learners will receive a course pack, handbook and certificate endorsed by the CPD standards Office. A comprehensive library containing videos and other resources is also included. You will also have exclusive access to our brand-new TRiM app. Due to be released this month.
