Trauma Risk Management blended e-learning refresher training

This e-learning course is open only to people who can demonstrate that they have previously qualified as a TRiM Practitioner. The TRiM refresher course allows learners to revise their critical TRiM skills and provides a face-to-face practical session to build confidence and maintain TRiM standards.

There are five modules that allow you to refresh your memory on all of the TRiM elements and the role of the practitioner so that you can re-integrate into your organisation’s TRiM team with confidence. You will participate in a practical exercise with one of our experienced mentors, who will be able to answer any questions you have and will provide both written and verbal feedback to you.

Learning time is approximately 3-4 hours including a one-hour practical session. On completion of the course, you will receive a certificate endorsed by the CPD Standards Office, a new TRiM pack which includes a manual, lanyard and you will also be given access to our new TRiM app.

Course Content

To attend this course, you must have previously qualified as a TRiM practitioner. This short course will not in itself qualify you as a TRiM Practitioner. The training is designed to revise and update you on previously taught and assessed skills.

Module 1 – The characteristics of traumatic stress and planning a response to traumatic events

Module 2 – Psychological risk assessment and the factors used in TRiM interventions

Module 3 – The framework for risk assessments and practical considerations

Module 4 – Recording risk assessments

Module 5 – a reminder about self-care and personal resilience

Module 6 – an instructor assessed practical TRiM risk assessment

Course Outcome

It is very important that TRiM practitioners refresh their skills on a regular basis. This training will provide you with updates and an assessed practical exercise to build your confidence. This course will not qualify you as a TRiM Practitioner.

Accreditation

On completion of the course learners will receive a course pack, handbook and certificate endorsed by the CPD standards Office. A comprehensive library containing videos and other resources is also included. You will also have exclusive access to our brand-new TRiM app. Due to be released this month.
