Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a globally recognised course designed to equip participants with the knowledge and confidence to support individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
Similar to physical first aid, a Mental Health First Aider (MHFAider®) can assist someone before professional help is available.
MHFA is suitable for anyone who interacts with members of the public and desires to gain the skills and knowledge to safely and effectively support individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
It’s important to note that MHFA does not replace professional treatment and is not intended to be therapeutic.
Upon completing the course, participants will be able to provide crucial support during mental health crises.
Furthermore, participants will learn how to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health, promote positive wellbeing, and foster more proactive dialogue.
They will learn how to promote early intervention and gain valuable information on accessing professional help.
If you’re interested in becoming a certified Mental Health First Aider, visit the MHFA website to find a course near you.
